Motorcraft brake pads...why so many types?
Just wondering if anyone knows what all the different motorcraft part numbers for brake pads mean.
Not sure what I should be looking for but wanted to stick to the motorcraft for now.
I need new rears for my 2012 f-350 4X4 crew cab. Local dealer says part is BR-1334. The only option that comes up under my truck type from Rock Auto is NBR-1334 even though a search of their site brings up BR-1334 as available.
Tried to google the difference and it reveals even more numbers BRSD-1334.
Then there's the big long Ford numbers 8C3Z2V200...etc..
What would be the closest to stock pads?
Thanks for any input.
BR: STANDARD PREMIUM - INTEGRALLY MOLDED - OE DESIGN
BRSD: SUPERDUTY - INTEGRALLY MOLDED
NBR: STANDARD PREMIUM - INTEGRALLY MOLDED - HIGH LEVEL SERVICE DESIGN
BRR : w/BOLTS - 2-WHEEL ABS - w/SRW - TWIN I-BEAM AXLES (where SRW is single rear wheels)
BRRF: OE DESIGN - 2-WHEEL ABS - w/DRW (where DRW is dual rear wheels)
The BRSD is a well rounded long lasting pad, good for frequent stops and towing.

The thing that throws me is I can't figure out why Rock Auto would only list the NBR as a fit for my truck when it appears they stock the other pads as well.
It just seemed very odd.
And to make it more interesting other aftermarket sites don't seem to list the NBR's as an option. They just list the BR's and BRSD.
I thought picking a replacement would have been easier.
