Camshaft sensor location

Does anyone know where the camshaft sensor is located on a 90 f250 5.8l?

Well actually there is one it's just not called a cam sensor it's called a PIP(profile Ignition pickup) and it's inside the distributor.

So... looking at a picture of the part, it is a Hall effect switch with a shutter wheel?

Thanks for the replies. The problem I"m having is tn order to start the truck I have to depress the gas. When I put it in gear to move forward the engine and front end just shake. If left Ideling it will die after a period of time. I"ve changed the plugs, wires, rotar and map sensor. Any advice would be appreciated as to where to look. I will research the pip. Thanks again.

Need to check for codes.

A truck that has sat for 4-5 years will have fuel problems. Gas turns to varnish. Varnish ruins fuel injectors. If there was any type of fuel in the tanks with ethanol blend, that would make it worse, as ethanol absorbs moisture. Moisture creates rust in the fuel regulator and injectors and anything else that has contact with air.

My truck sat for years also and I had to replace both pumps along with a laundry list of other things.

The tanks were empty I know I am going to have to change the front fuel pump, probably change both. Agree that there is a laundry list of things that need to be replaced.
Should I change the PIP first and then look at the fuel injectors if that does not take care of the problem? Thanks again for the advice.

Don't randomly start changing things on a hunch that is a great way to waste a lot of money and time.
First thing done should be to check codes and fuel pressure, that will tell you if the problem is electrical or fuel related, the motor could also have plugged injectors or low compression on one or more cylinders so those are the next things to check. Once you have identified an actual problem then you can start changing things.

Back to report on what I have done. Did a compression test, all cylinders compression at 120 psi. Verfied spark plug wires connected in the right firing order. Check the timing. Pulled the O2 sensor to see if the catilytic converter was plugged it is not. Fuel pressure seems fine. Truck started without depression on the gas peddle, idled pretty good. When I placed in gear in moved forward the engine ran rough. As I went down the road able to pick up speed, shifted fine. When around the block. When I got back and was backing into the driveway engine started running rougher and shaking. Need to decide where to go from here, any thoughts would be appreciated.

You verified there aren't any codes?

What is fuel psi?

Post codes, or System pass code of 11 and fuel psi so we can help you more.
