'64 262 dizzy search

Hi everyone, I'm in the middle of a rebuild on my 262. Need to find a new distributor and gear. I know this is a long obsolete part. Wonder if anyone out there has one in their parts box. Now I think I made a mistake choosing this engine over the 223 for the rebuild. I just love my tow truck engine however.

I don't think you are alone in looking for one of those things. Look at this thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...963-262i6.html
There is a chance this place might have a used one. Windy Hill Auto Salvage 320-354-2201 it is in MN.

Thanks Crop Duster. I definitely know how obsolete and unobtainium this item is. Have looked at every thread about it. I will give that salvage yard a call. Thanks again.

Just a thought if you can't find one, you could probably use a dizzy and oil pump setup from a 63 or before? I know it's not "that year" but it's load-o-matic and would look like its supposed to be there. I think the only difference is oil pump drive shaft width in 64 vs 63 and before.

Found my distributor! Was going through the threads and found the part number for a 1964 Ford 262 distributor. Number dummy referenced the number. A guy on eBay was selling the correct distributor for my truck but listed it as a 223 distributor so I didn't look any further at his item. scored an NOS unit.
