Currently I have a 00' Northstar 650tc on 00' F-250 ccsb 6.8 zf5 , Ride-Rite air bags.
The Northstar 650 has East West bed and no bathroom.
I would like a Pop-up with bathroom and north south bed, however, pretty rare, Also, since what I would like are mostly 8' and ,there is my conflict.
I'm not so concerned about the weight as I am about length.
For the folks have what I'm considering, can you recommend pros and cons?
I know this comment will not solve your problem, but I wonder if it is possible to really get what you want in one camper. I always feel like with every RV chosen there is a trade-off so you pick what is most important and go from there. We really loved the way our truck handled our Hallmark pop-up, but even with a good bath showering with the curtain arrangement was not pleasant and my wife hated the east/west bed. Livability is much better than our current Northstar, but handling takes a hit with the higher center of gravity. When you start getting shorter, east/west beds usually predominate or else something has to be extended, etc., and as you know having a bath means losing floor space. I am not trying to change your mind, just saying -
I guess you are over-landing so much a hard side will just not work? You could take the exact model camper and put it on your truck, but it will be longer and heavier than what you have for sure.
Another consideration there in Colorado is Hallmark. They do north/south beds as an option. Pricey, but good campers in my opinion. Their site also posts used units so there might be something there.
5 Star RV in Henderson, CO (Also right down the road from Hallmark) is a Northstar dealer and I believe carry a lot of Northstar campers in stock. When I was looking initially for a popup I was going to get the 850SC. It has a bathroom and pretty sure the north/south bed. We ended up with the Northern Lite 8.11 QC SE hard side but I would have been very happy with the 850SC.
The 650SC will also fit your short bed, it is just shorter than the 850SC.
Thank you all, giving me great starting point.
if I need to make a choice definitely don't need a bath ( would need a black and grey water= extra weight) but would really enjoy north south bed.
Splitting our time, NM winter Colo. Summer lots of exploring and FS roads, don't think I'll ever go back to a hard side.
I will check the weights for the 650sc,
Not too worried about a couple hundred extra pounds.
We shall see.
I’ll also recommend Hallmark. I have an Everest which is probably too large for you but they have several models that could work for you. They are also happy to customize virtually any camper to get what you want.
They also have some used ones and maybe one of those could work for you...
When i thought i wanted a pop up i found the Outfitter brand to look real nice and seemed to have happy customers

I had a Winnebago Hard side for many years. I then had a Northstar popup for many years. I now have owned a Hallmark since I got it new in 2017. No comparison, the Hallmark is phenomenal. The old Winnebago I got for free was awful, but did get me into truck campers instead of travel trailers. And the Northstar just fell apart driving it for 5+ years of backroad and highway use. Get the Hallmark!
