Really need advice

O.K here goes have a 98, 7.3 powerstroke had it e-tested last week and it failed miserable. So i changed the injectors and it passed perfect, then my problems becane, first after about three hours after e test it started smoking really, really bad. so i pulled all the injectors out to check if the o-rings were pinched or broke, they were all fine? before i put the injectors back in i put a suckun tube in the top of the cylinder through the injector hole and i sucked up about 2 liters of pure anti-freze, so i pulled the heads and had them checked all was fine except the brass cups that are in the heads that the injectors sit in, 4 were rotted. so machined, cleaned, resat the vales replaced the vale seals and put it all back togther. the dame thing is no better than when i started, still smoking like a bitch. am stuck have no idea what the smoke could be from?any ideas or suggestions would be very helpfull.

o ya there's no codes and the truck seems to be running fine.

I know of a PSD owner who had similar problems.

He changed his thermostat with a non-Ford unit and for some reason the PSD overheated and the thermostat allowed the anti-freeze to back up into the engine causing severe damage. Not sure of all the details. Ford techs found the thermostat as the problem and there was no warranty.

He had to rebuild the entire engine.

I would think that sucking out anti-freeze from the cylinders is a bad sign.

Good luck.

Have a couple of questions for ya?

How many miles on engine?
How much were the heads resurfaced?
Are there any driveability problems along w/ the excessive smoking? ( skipping, low power, etc..)
Do you have a scan tool to check injection control pressure?
What type of inj cups did you have installed?

If i think of anything else, ill post. I will do what i can to help. Jamie

besides carbon build up on piston heads the cylinders looked fine and buffed the block with pad and no visable cracks.

505000K, with alot of t.l.c and alot of work, and as i said the truck seems to run great did not bring for road test but did let it run for about 1 1\2 hours while i was trying to see if i could get any codes but there was none. dont know what to do next? should i rip the injectors back out to see if theres any anti-frezze in the combustion chamber still? even though i almost positive that the heads are fine?
and the cups were replaced by the machine shop that did the heads and could not tell ya how much they took off. thanxs for the help guys

And injection presure is about 960 to 980 i belive is what it said
