Either this is a dumb question or I'm loosing my mind. I have been researching 2" leveling kits for my 2000 2 wheel drive Ex and came across Daystar that claims that their 2" leveling kit is made in the USA. So I contacted them via chat and was told by a rep there that they do not have a 2" leveling kit for the Ex. I then said OK what is the part number recommended for a 2000 2 wheel drive F250, because I was under the impression that since my new Z springs fit, the leveling kit would fit, likewise. She came back and said the suspensions are not the same..
Who is screwed up? I know I am most of the time, but this time I think I'm right. My Haynes manual cover reads "Ford Super Duty F-250 & F-350 Pickups 1999 thru 2002 Includes Excursion."
Another question: do I need to grind anything down, like ball joints or other stuff to get the alignment correct? I've got the 4 degree Moog alignment bushings.
Should be the same twin I beam suspension up front to my knowledge. I put a Daystar leveling kit in my 04 2wd F250 back when I had it. No shop could get it perfectly aligned after that except 4Wheel Parts after some grinding. I don't remember what they had to grind but after that I stopped chewing up tires. I had OEM ball joints when the kit went in and did Moog ball joints some years later without issue with re-alignment.
Thanks for the response. Your experience tipped the scales for me. I checked out Ford part numbers for parts above and below the springs for both the F250/350 for that year and they are identical to the Ex. Just ordered the kit. I'll give a report as soon as I can put the front end back together.
