Azalea and Mandeville that came for mothers day went in first. With the ball & chain and 4 kiddos there ain't alotta time for toolin!

got the tank out this evening and was surprised at how decent the in tank screens were. The pickup boot was a different story.. The dry rotted boot makes it suck air at 1/4- of a tank, I fought this issue in my dually for a few months when I first got it..

I've seen worse fuel.. Honestly figured to see algea growing inside the tank

What a FIGHT this monster was!!!!

Was blowing leaves before I started on the bus and this little top reminded me of the scene in tremors where the graboid pulled the station wagon underground😆

Nothing like a few celebration laps on the cfr450

Sitting in here with the putty cat and we think 72-73 of the 104 PCM pins will be used(basically all of them)

Also appears that 17 of 29 fuses will need to be used on the underhood fuse block and 9 of 30 from the inside

Then on from the PCM to the
IDM
GEM
VSS
and a few other small systems.. Hoping to start breaking down the harness soon

looking good wires are fun but it gets better, my eyes finally stopped being crossed from all the wiring diagrams from my project. Are you planning on running the van bcm to run your lights, radio and heat or marrying the two harness together?

Thank u sir! Did you do a rewire or what did you get into? The supercabs wiring harness is in excellent shape but I plan on updating its little fuse box then merging the two. I'm looking into getting rid of the super dutys dash cluster which appears to be straight forward

I did a crown vic swap and used the suspension, engine, transmission. i ended using the bcm and interior and all the lighting wiring from the car and run it with the trucks original switches, because my original harness was garbage from front to back. Mine will start run and function just fine with the cluster unplugged though, and im not sure if the power stroke is the same but i have can bus wires all in alot of the dash wiring i had to be careful of. I did cut one and the engine got very angry until i figured it out, in my harness the can bus lines are all twisted pairs. Yours might be totally different but something to look out for.

I drove an 06 vic for about 3 years, loved that car! I'm reading about charging issues without the battery light In the cluster and possible vss issues with shifting. Seems to be ways around all of that though. Thank you for the insight on the bus wire! I'm going to build a test stand and run the engine while I'm trimming out anything in relation to the pcm/gem module.. Hoping to not have any severe head scratchers but thats blowing sunshine

Updates

Had WAY more fuel than I thought

Been back to work for the last 2 weeks.. Out here tonight frikkin stressed, I should have bought 2 cases of budweiser

She's CLOSE to popping off!
1 hour to get power to the key and cluster
1 hour to get power to the outside fuse box
1 hour to track down ground issue with fuel pump
Going to run larger gauge wire for Glow plugs tomorrow

Closeeeeee but I'm smoking more than the diesel

Getting good RPMs when cranking. Power to the fuel pump (confirms power to the ECU) and the glow plug relay is cycling. No oil in the ICP harness, also unplugged and still didn't start. Oil level is reading correctly on stick plus oil is within an inch from the top of the HPOP reservoir plug/cap. Fuel bowl heater fuse is good as well. Going to get fuel psi reading tomorrow and bench test the solenoid for the IPR.. (which I'm leaning towards as the issue)

The van went down and wouldn't restart 7ish years ago after sitting overnight so we stored it. Looking back I wish I had found the issue before pulling the harness but we'll get it sorted out 👍.

Going to buy Car Gauge Pro tomorrow as well as
@SkySkiJason suggested. Its past time to step my 'electrical systems' testing skills up.

Bought the app today. I went with forscan because I like the PID gauge screen. Any tips or advice

okay fellas I'm a duck in the water ATM..

Added pcm ground

Need 500psi ICP and +10.5v to pcm to crank.

I am also starting with an 800 CA battery as well as my tahoe in unison via jumper cables

There is corrosion on the IDM and inside the pigtail.

Safe to say we have found a starting place

flood damage

@SkySkiJason I definitely owe you for the direct lead

Taking it to the machine shop tomorrow to dissect a little deeper. Surely its cheaper to rebuild than buy used..

I suspect it isn't burnt up rather than corroded and oxidized

Now I have GOT to check on the IDM in my dually😬

Not seeing anything burnt. Three of the larger pins were corroded so im hopeful that's it

The old IDM wouldn't register for a buzz test so I borrowed another one

16 hour day yesterday because of a paper roll drive motor

New rule at work,, facemasks if within 6' and separate every 10 mins for 5 minutes for 'controlled exposure

I pulled the IDM out of my dually (after unhooking the batteries)
The plug and pins are in excellent shape

I know, my lugs are rusty🙄🙄 Older women always snapping pics of them at the redlights tho 😆

do i see 110?🤔

Finally a successful buzz test..

and...... DRUMROLL.......
