Front end issues.
My 2000 F150 Lariat four-wheel drive when I have it in park and turn the wheels left and right on the front end that makes no noise but when I put it in gear it makes some kind of grinding noise when I turn the wheels and things are popping but there's nothing visible showing on the tie rods and all that kind of stuff. Any clues to what I should troubleshoot?
Does the same thing happen when trans selector is put in Neutral?
If no, the trans is put in gear in R or other forward ingear positons that afffects the front drive line in some way.
The motor will tend to twist in the motor mounts.
This may be a clue.
Put is gear, >>>hold a firm brake application<<<< then add some throttle to the motor for twist against the mounts and do some stressing. and turn the steering and see what happens.
But only long enough for the testing because it heats the trans fluid and slips things.
Good luck.
