I have been using Shell Rotella DFA since encountering some water in fuel from a questionable source some time ago. Over the years I have tried most of the additives and found no great difference with most. The DFA however, does what it says it will. It can be found at most Shell commercial distributors and Wal-Mart of all places. Give it a try, I think you will notice a difference.
I recently discovered Howes additive in my local mom and pop part store. Its much cheaper to use than the competitors and seems to make my truck idle smother. Howes also prevent geling, in fact they guarentee your fuel will not gel with their product in your tank.
I have been using the Power Service fuel additive sience I bought my truck new. I usually pour in a whole bottle every 4th fillup, and I never let the truck get past a 1/2 tank.
I switch between the white bottle which is the Diesel boost I think , and the gray bottle which is the Diesel clean.
I stopped using the additive about a month ago , and I did notice that my truck ran rougher, and lost about 1 MPG............
