rear window removal

I need advice on removing rear slider which is leaking...I removed all interior trim needed and removed 9mm nuts. My question is do I remove only the inside nuts which are for the window or also the ones which appear to be to the trim around window. There are 2 different sets around the window I am don't want to mess it up. Thanks!

I would check a haynes if you have one handy. I have never personally done it so can't really help you. but I would see if it is in the haynes.

You don't need to remove the outside trim nuts. Even if you loosen them up you cannot remove the trim piece unless the window is already removed. Loosen the nuts for the window and then you can take a scraper and insert it between the window and the body from inside of the cab.

Are you planning on replacing your window or are you going to try the "fix"?

My Ford dealer called a local glass shop and they said they would replace slider, complete job, for $200. I figured I would do the work and pick the glass up from them for less. I HOPE!

That sounds like a very good deal. When I replaced the slider in mine with a one piece unit the window was over $400 and I did the labor. My window is tinted though.

You would be hard pressed to beat a deal like that IMHO. You will need at least 2 hours to strip your interior, install window, and replace everything.
