I found a truck that I like (79 f150 short bed 4x4) 400 automatic, clean body for PA., but I really wanted a stick. Has anyone switched over to a manual and is it a big job.
It's been done MANY times. Easiest is to find a donor truck with all the parts, but you can collect the necessary parts one at a time. Not necessarily hard if you have the tools, space, engine hoist (or trans jack)
Hey I hope this isn't too much of a hijack but I couldn't figure out how to private message you on this forum. I'm selling my '78 f150 short bed 4x4 manual trans, located in va. Body is solid (small bubble forming in drivers cab corner), has a wooden flatbed on it, but I have a line on a good bed if desired.
I have an album with a few pictures. There's gotta be a way to link up. I put my email in a response and it seems to have gotten flagged. I'm happy to take this conversation elsewhere, if a moderator could direct me where to go
Youngwolfsdad you don't have enough posts yet to send PM so it will have to be done thru Email.
Maybe it was flagged because you listed your full email address so bots could get it?
use "at" for @ in email dresses might help.
Good luck

If you end up with the original truck you were looking at with the auto, I have everything needed to swap over to the 4-speed in upstate NY (Binghamton area). Not sure what part of PA you're in but the PA border isn't far from me.
I put a listing up in the marketplace. Have it listed at $7800, but of course if you don't think that's a fair price I'm willing to negotiate.
I've done 4+ hour drives with it within the past year, so I'm willing to meet you halfway with it, or we can arrange something. Email me if you're interested.
