330 MD intake replacement . Help!

Hello All,
I have a 1966 F600 with a 330MD . The 2 barrel intake manifold has a 1/2 hole in it.Just below the carburetor base.
Do you think this could be repaired ? What could I replace it with? The motor runs good just has some blowby.
Thank you

Could you post a picture of the hole in the intake? That would help a lot.

Looks like that's the exhaust crossover? On an FT engine they are in the center of the heads and thus right beside the carb on both sides.

On an FE, they are offset.

Thus, you need an FT manifold. Any flavor will do.

Can you post more pics of the intake? We'd like to see more of it to see if it's an FT or an FE intake.

How many exhaust manifold bolts per head are there? 8 or 10?

According to everything I've read, that should be an FT manifold with 10 bolts on the exhaust. But, I'm far from an expert on FT engines.

Yep...

However. Wasn't there something with the 330MD using the smaller FE-crank snout as well as the smaller distributor hole in the block? (or was it the intake? I forget).

Meaning, the hole in the intake for an FT that is not a 330MD would be larger than what's on there now?

That's what I'm thinking. I think his best bet is to take the intake off and do some measuring. From the point he's at, 45-60 minutes at the most should have it off, including hunting tools.

His truck doesn't have a governor, and I believe it's the governed models that have the larger dist hole. Could be wrong though.

When I was young I would crawl up there and lift them babies right out from under the hood and hop onto the ground. Now, IF I could lift it, I would end up under the intake on the ground.

Yes, there was, but they used the FT heads and intake with the FE's water pump and front dress. That's an FT intake. The exhaust crossover can be blocked off with thin metal shims, same as you can on an FE. Or block them off at the exhaust manifold. He'll need to block both sides
