Hey fellas . I have a 2006 f150 4x4 supercab as my daily driver. The brake light in the dash stays on almost all the time. A couple of times it went off for about 10 minutes, once when it was snowing and once when it was wet. Would anybody know what all this is connected to and possibly have any idea of where the wiring runs and , of course the color. I would like to trace the wire as I think there may be an issue with the wire or it’s contacts. Thanks
Warning -- could be a serious brake issue . Low brake fluid , master cly trouble , abs trouble lots of things . Look at codes --auto zone will get codes for you . If you have not experienced brake failure-its not something you will forget its pretty terrorizing. My emergency brake has saved me several times, make sure you try yours . Get back with us and we will look up some diagrams for you
rob i have a 2005 f-150 did the same thing. replaced parking brake switch. not that. replace mastercylinder sensor not that. took dash bezel off around speedometer roved clip on left hand side cleaned it out with a nylon small brush and light went out had to wiggle a little. been off since then . was just not making a good contact. try that first. steve
My '07 has the same thing. Brakes mechanically good, did checks according to shop manual. All checked okay. My issue is in my gauge cluster. This is an issue, gauge repair place can fix it. Just food for thought if all else checks okay.
Thanks fellas. sR1620 , I will try that, it seems to me to be a contact issue . Of course I checked all the worrisome issues out first and determined it to be a nuisance issue.
