Can anyone tell me how to wire up a factory 3rd brake light that was removed from an ' 87 Lincoln Town Car, into an ' 83 Town Car, it has two wires one hot and one ground, I unplugged it from the harness under the package shelf, and don't think I've got the plug on my ' 83 to plug into, ALSO does anyone know of a website for Lincolns, like our FTE site? THANKS !!!
I'm going to assume that the '83 isn't setup for a 3rd light, and this is strictly my opinion and theory.
Get under the dash and locate the brake light switch on the brake pedal. It should have two wires. One should be hot and the other should be switched (only has power when the brake pedal is depressed). Tap into the switched wire and run a lead to the 3rd brake light. The second wire on the 3rd brake light should be ground.
