Well. This morning was a doozy. Had my daily driver not crank (dead as a hammer and battery wouldn't take a charge OR jump, something electrical wrong), so I got in my 7.3 and going down the road and come to a stop sign and my truck lurches to the right. WTH. Go a little further and I feel a shutter. Stop, dangit. the hub is warm on that side... Figure stuck brake in some fashion. Limp back to the house. Jack it up and can barely turn it by hand... Finally made it to work after getting the other truck to barely crank and replace battery then cables in the parking lot of autoparts store. That was a treat...
Well, the 7.3 has new rotors and pads (<5K). The lines looked pretty old last time and the calipers were quite difficult to depress. SO, I don't want to particularly with funds how they are right now but I don't want to be into this again. Planning to put new calipers on front, new brake lines, and probably will need new pads as I think this pad was stuck this weekend as it pulled to right when I hit brakes (I got suspicious then but was an hr away from home with family on sunday so I was gonna do what I had to do to get home and frankly I had so much trouble with my boat motor I forgot about the brakes).
I don't have the acumen to make my own lines, so I was looking on rock auto...
I have a solid idea for new calipers and already have Hawk pads for front if needed.
What do you think of this kit? Would you recommend a different option?

I wouldn't go that route. If I had to guess the inside of your RUBBER brake lines are deteriorated even if they look good on the outside. On the inside when they break down the rubber can act as a check valve. Replace the rubber flexible lines on your caliber and 9x out of 10 that takes care of this problem.
HA. That was actually plan A before I got carried away. I tend to do that when I get frustrated... Say screw it, im not gonna have any problems again dangit. Basically using a howitzer when a bb gun would have worked. Thanks for the advise.
I was just about to pull the trigger on those lines and I screwed my hand up working on my lawnmower. ER was fun. I did get the VIP treatment. Got SUPER lucky didn’t do more damage.
A buddy of mine helped me with the truck last night. He actually had a extra set of lines on hand so that’s what we went with. SS ones sure look nice but these were here and he wouldn’t be again for weeks , so beggars can’t be choosers... just glad to get up and running. Had to put a whole new set of calipers on the front end after work today. Definitely should not have done anything today. Hand is killing me. Will be paying for it.
not best picture because forgot to take before getting tire back on.
Well. Changing blades. Done hundreds of times. I had it chocked up correctly on wheels but I did not put jackstands (I always use for vehicles but I’ve never used it for the lawn mower just a habit never thought of it even though I should have...) underneath it in the front and somehow it broke loose and I had left middle finger on the blade spindle. Well that 1100 pounds got pushed through my finger to the ground on the concrete.. I apparently twisted my finger just enough that it did not fracture the bone but it took a big chunk out all the way to the tendons. It felt like a giant hammer hit my finger and I pulled it out and I immediately could see tendons.... and bruised the crap out of the joint and bone head on...to the ER I go... hurts like a mother too. Got SO lucky. It is going to look like crap when it’s done healing. But eventually (months) should function appropriately as long as doesn’t get infected. They could not close it all the way because parts were missing... but did a good job.
good thing I am more administrative now but I use my hands for my work and on my farm so it is gonna be interesting. “If gonna be stupid gotta be tough” I was told long ago. Sounds about right...
