There is/was a 53 F500 flatbed dump at a feed mill I've been keeping my eye on since 1997. It sat under a roof behind the mill, then was moved out into the weather. I would stop in once in a while to talk to the owner about it. I tried to talk him into fixing it up and painting it and putting his logo on the doors. I didn't want to buy it but let him know if he doesn't fix it up that before he sells it for scrap I'd like to save some parts....
I heard that that owner sold the mill. I was doing errands in my 54 today and droive by the mill. I pulled into the mill and headed towards the back. It didn't look to promising as I didn't see the truck in the usual spot. Then a saw a man cleaning up weeds. He said his son bought the mill. I asked about the 53. He said it was sold.... to a guy not to the scrap yard. I asked how they advertised. He said they didn't have to. Apparently someone else was watching it too. He understood the new owner was going to fix it up.... He didn;t have his name nor did he know where he was from nor the price.
Here are pics I took years ago:
I'll try posting pics later.... The pics load up to 90% and no farther...
NIce! Glad it was saved. Hopefully the guy will end up on here sometime.
Abe, it looks like you now have an excuse to go out driving in your truck. Gotta find it and check on his plans.

Oh, it could be miles away. The son of the guy I talked to is the new owner of the mill. He is moving his monument and tombstone engraving business there. I had him in class. So I will ask him. But it sat there for 23 years... Hopefully the new owner won't give up on it.... or make a...RAT ROD!!!!

I know it's very hard to find stuff on Facebook later but if you see it again grab a picture of it.
The Mill's new owner's dad said the truck was hauled out just last week.
