Hey guys, love the forum, read it almost every day. But I do have a question that I am unable to locate the answer to.
This is what I have-
2005 Excursion EB edition with the 6.0. I have had the engine bullet proofed about 32k miles ago when I got it. (5yrs ago now). I do run the SCTx4 tuner, but only with the “tow” tune on it. It is a custom tune that I bought which as it was explained to me that it basically makes the TC engage sooner so that towing is easier on the tranny.
- what I use the truck for- family trips, pulling camper, boat (very minimal), utility trailer. I am planing a very long trip out west for the month of July in which I will be pulling the camper roughly 4K miles or so.
My Question- do I or should I upgrade my TC? If so, then which one do you all recommend?
Truck has 162k on the clock, runs like a champ! Tranny takes everything I can throw at it. Everything else is bone stock
