I broke the handle of my transmission dipstick and am having a hard time finding a part number or an aftermarket replacement. It is for a 96 F250 7.3 diesel with E4OD. Are they still made or do I need to look in junkyards?
Thanks
Take your dip stick to the salvage yard and find on that has same head shape as yours. Shape of the handle or finger ring doesn't matter. Then check the length, if it is longer you can compare it to a stock dipstick from a similar truck and cut it off and remark the level marks. I know its kind of a backwoods fix but your transmission will never know.
The dip stick and tube are gone. in it's place is a blue plug.
I guess the guy that put my transmission in my truck took it out and probably put it in the new transmission. But i thought the new transmission had a dip stick in in it when I bought it.
Sorry I couldn't help you.
