Hi all. New to the forum. First post. Working with a restoration shop on an older Bronco. Really excited about it and could use some help decoding the 11-digit VIN. Probably something that NumberDummy could do in his sleep. Found a few reference sites but looking for some help from the crew here. The VIN is U15NLD15243
Look at the Ford Truck bar at the top of your browser. Under Tools is a VIN Decoder. Don't now how it'll do with that 11-digit VIN, but it's a good place to start!
Here is the place to go. These guys decode vin's in their sleep. https://classicbroncos.com/forums/index.php
Here is my attempt
U15 N L D15243
Series identification U15='s U100 Wagon
Engine code N ='s 289 4/7 Liter V8 2BC Carb 1966-68
Assembly plant L ='s Michigan truck
Production Sequence D15243
C00,001- D82,000 model year 1968
I am also looking for the specific details of my early Bronco... VIN is U15GLQ00402...I believe based on below comments the U15=Wagon, G=302 V8, L= Michigan but do not know the Q00402. Can anyone correct or help me complete the information?
Unfortunately this Bronco forum is not super busy, but we try. I believe Q00402 falls in the manufacture sequence number of Q00000 - Q19999, so built in August 1972.
If you post the complete vin on the Classic Bronco site I bet you will get a bunch of replies. Everyone over there is SUPER nice and VERY knowledgeable.
Hey all!
I know this is an old thread but I'm a new owner of a 1965 Bronco and I was looking for info on decoding the VIN. This site seems pretty new and it's a great resource: https://earlybronco.org/vin-decoder/
Thanks for the link, if that does not work out, try the folks on the CB site. Those folks can tell you the hair color on the guy that bolted on your Bronco's bumper and the color of his vehicle he drove that day. Probably even what he had for lunch. https://classicbroncos.com/forums/index.php
