My 2017 F250 Super Duty goes out of factory warranty in a couple of days, and I have 2 or 3 letters from Ford (or the insurance companies claiming to represent Ford) telling me I need to buy the extended warranty (prices not mentioned: call for quote ). What are your takes on this? I had to take last year off for medical reasons and didn't get on the road with my 30' camper, and now with the Corona Bologna I'm stuck again. Truck has ~16,000 miles on it - only had 4,000 when I bought it from a dealer in Apr 2018. Never a hiccup or any problem at all, so that can lull you into complacency. I really need expert input from you guys...
Thanks in advance!

(And what are your recommendations for wiper replacements? All of them are the very best according to the ads, and from best to the worst according to the reviews - kind of annoying...)

Go with a “Ford” branded and backed ESP only.
You can go online and get quotes.
Flood Ford and Lombard Ford are two of the most popular sellers of said ESP’s but there are others.
I purchased mine from Lombard because they have the most financing options but I’ve heard the Flood Ford is a little cheaper.
As far as wipers go, stick with OEM and just change them every 2-3 years. I thought the Michelin silicon blades would be better than OEM but after a month, they started chattering and squeaking.
unless you can afford the unexpected repairs....a 3-5k price ( guessing on price ) premium care warranty would be worth the peace of mind IMO...electronics, fuel systems, transmission etc etc would pay for the warranty and then some if one major repair is needed. I will assume you have a diesel, then more reason to get a warranty.
..If you plan on keeping her /truck , get a ford warranty. I would suggest max out on years and not so much miles based on your current driving pattern.. Good Luck
Many thanks - I will get the warranty, and have already ordered the Motorcraft wipers. Looking forward to getting back on the road after this virus slacks off.
Cheers, and best regards,

When I was picking up my truck from the dealer, they offered me an extended warranty and I told them I was going to buy it through Flood since it was much cheaper that way. They asked to see the quote from Flood and offered to match that price. 7year/125K miles Premium Care ESP for $2845.
Since I keep my vehicles a long time, (and I do all of the maintenance and mods to my other vehicles) it's nice to not have to worry about wrenching on this vehicle for at least the next 6 years so long as I don't bust the 125K part. It may or may not pay for itself over the next 7 years, but the peace of mind is nice and worth it to me.
I went with Flood - 6 year, 100k miles, $1935. Of course, it will only be for the next 3 years since it is 3 years old now, but like Adam said, to not have to worry about repairs on this complex AI truck is worth it. I'm at the stage in life (74 next month, 2 knee replacements, spinal fusion, 1 of 2 rotator cuff repairs left to go, and ruptured long head of the biceps) I don't do much in the way of wrenching anymore, unless it's my back...
