Atomic Game-Changer flasher install
I purchased the Atomic Game-Changer LED flasher module. The snap-in looks pretty easy, but it's the power and selection switches I have questions about.
1. Has anyone used an always-on power supply? (and if so, which one) I'm involved with disaster relief, and I'll need to run my flashers with the power off.
2. Has anyone used the supplied switch for power, and the pattern selector switch? If so, where did you install them? I don't want to use one of my four upfitters, as they are dedicated to other things.
Thanks!
For power, I realized the 12vdc outlet by the steering wheel was always on, and was also fused. I didn't think the flasher module would pull much current, so I was off to the races.
I ran the power cable behind the glovebox. I removed the 120vac outlet module to help pass the wires. You can also remove the upfitter switches or the trailer brake module as well, but I just used a stiff wire and pulled it through.
I tapped into the hot wire on the 12vdc plug for power.
I ran a ground wire, then ran the hot wire to the power switch. The other side of the power switch went to the flasher power, as well as one side of the pattern select button. Then the other side of the pattern select button went to the blue wire to the flasher module.
Once I verified the wiring, I mounted the power and pattern switches down below.
Be sure to check where the plastic reinforcements are on the back side before drilling (they add thickness, so the switches may not fit). Also, these are about the cheapest switches I've ever seen. I'm going to replace the power switch with a lighted switch, so I can see when the lights are on during the day.
Just looking to see if anyone else installed the game changer flasher kit. Not entirely sure how to wire in the switch for the power and the mode switch
