I was at the scrap yard today, and saw an old truck axle off to the side.
It has wood spoke wheels, tires may have been hard rubber, a top loader differential with I guess a torque tube drive shaft, and on either side of the differential were short leaf spring packs that went from the hub to the differential.
I wasn't able to get any pictures of it, but if by chance I get any more metal to take in, I'll try to get pictures if it is still there.
Does anybody know or can hazard a guess as to what year, model truck it's from
I asked the owner of the scrap yard today, if he knew what it was out of. He said a 1921 Ford Model A truck. I took pictures, but I have to send them from my phone to my computer, than upload them here. I'll add them soon.
Out of an AA truck. I wouldn't expect Ford to name who manufactured that axle (just like the Eaton 1350) so I'll just go on record saying it's an early Timken.
