I have not. I do know my truck feels tippy as-is sometimes. Also.. I know the factory literature recommended you not put an in bed camper in a 73-77.5 f250.

I've never done it, but I've been stuck behind a highboy with a camper on a winding road before and it doesn't look fun. Even going considerably under the speed limit, the truck still looked like it was going to tip over in every corner. That being said, I'm sure the truck had original, worn out suspension and no sway bars. If the suspension has been refreshed and sway bars added, it should perform just fine. I'm planning to add sway bars and air bags to mine eventually specifically for this purpose.

34” frame and 2 1/4” springs not nearly as good as 77.5-79 trucks

used to see them all the time in elk season. it can be done but I don't think I'd put a real heavy one in or take off on long trips.

In 1975 the trucks had 4 wheel drums, a steel dashboard, lap belts only, no headrests and 18 gallons of fuel behind the back seat. So, I just figure this... if there was something unsafe enough in 1975 for Ford to mention it in their literature... hell if I'd be doing it... even if I wanted to, which I do. Ha!

That said, I would love to mount a rooftop tent to the flatbed on my highboy.

I had one in my 1973 highboy. Only lasted one season. Hated driving it in the wind and that first step out or up is a doozy!
