I have a 1966 F100, 2wd, 240 that I am trying to install p/s on.
Per Number Dummy, I bought an NOS pump mounting bracket (C7AZ-3A732-A) to install the pump ( D8AC-3A578-AC) on.
After installing the bracke on the motor, I had the pulley removed so I could swap brackets .I discovered that the pump would not fit properly on the bracket.
So, now I have 2 items that don't fit each other. What do I do now?? I don't want a Bendix pump, for obvious reasons.
Is the D8 pump the late model C-type with a plastic reservoir? If so then the only problem is the stiffening rib. If that's the case you can grind the bracket to clear the rib and it should then fit.
If you have the Ford Thompson bracket it can be modified to work with the CII type pump. But the CII pump uses different hoses than a Ford Thompson so you will have to find one from another vehicle that will work or have one made. The pics are what needs to be done to the bracket to fit a CII.
