Alternator Upgrade
I have a 3-wire GM alternator on my 63, generator light even works. Can’t remember how I did it, it was 20+ years ago.
I put a 3G Mustang alternator on my ‘72. Super easy. I used a Painless 3G harness from Summit racing.
Here’s a good step by step from Hotrod...

I've used Alterstart Systems in Dallas twice. 6v +ground for my '49 Ford and a 60 amp to replace the generator on my '62. Both work well and the staff will take all the time needed to make sure you get what you need.
The HOTROD article is pretty good.
The Galaxie 352 pictured has a two-sheave alternator pulley. These pulleys are not too often found on passenger cars but they are a very common option on the truck 352. The 3G can cause the belt to slip and squeal without one.
