Transmission swap
I have a 2000 F150 V8 Triton 4X4 4.6L. Started having trouble shifting into Overdrive. As I would drive down the road as long as you hold the overdrive button in it would shift into overdrive perfectly. Done some checking around changed my gear shifter along with all sensors. Was told it's probably a solenoid so I decided to just get a whole new transmission. I can't find a 4R70W at any salvage yard. What other transmissions will interchange?

That's the only one available for your truck that I know of. The SD trucks used the 4R100W but I don't know about the fitment on yours. Might be best to have a local transmission shop rebuild yours.

I have the same problem in my 1999 Expedition V8 Triton 4.6L. It doesnt shift into overdrive and swap in 3rd-4th shifting gears, the solution was to change the whole transmission but i didnt find it so there´s no other choice that re manufacture the same trans box but my pocket doesnt help me in thath moment.
Checking values and signals to my transmission, I found many variations of voltage and amperage in the solenoid control, the problem was a short circuit in the power supply to the TCM, from the dashboard lighting to the backup lights. Something complex but the problem I had was solved. I hope the information is helpful and the problem is resolved, annex the transmission diagrams and the systems that I review.
