I tried to search this out, but not getting any results with a 2-character "T5" or T-5" query.
I have a 1970 351C with a 4-speed in my '63 F100.
I'd like to reduce my highway RPMs with an overdrive.
Any recommendations or resources on what I need for clutch, bell housing, etc...?
Your best bet would be to call Summit or Jeg's tech line and see what they can come up with. Because you are going to have to mix and match to make that work. Basically you need a small block bellhousing for a T5 that has room for a 164T, 28oz. unbalance flywheel. What kind of rpm are you turning at 65mph? My Cleveland is perfectly happy going down the road at 3000 rpm. If you just want an overdrive an AOD swap would probably be cheaper.

That's really helpful info - thank you!!

Don't have a tach but is sure sounds much higher than 3000 rpm "by ear" at 65, seems to top out and sound must comfortable at around 50-55mph. I'll get a tach hooked up and check the rear-end ratio.

Found some T5 swap info on YouTube, looks like would require also some tunnel modification (has to be raised up due to taller T5). Thinking I'm not willing to go there.
Kinda wanted to keep manual trans, but I'll look into your AOD recommendation or possibly a diff gear swap to a smaller ratio.
You just need a T5 adapter plate to run one with your current 4 speed bell. T5 has a longer input shaft, so this is an easy straightforward swap with an adapter plate. The classic Mustang vendors sell the plates

Thanks! I'll look into this. Do you happen to know if the the input shaft splines are the same?
