Yea but looking at used or trade in prices and assuming new car pricing will remain strong is flawed as well. Nothing is selling. With 26 million... actual hard working individuals out of work.... no one is buying much of anything.
The entire market is frozen in place.
Yes its a buyers market... for luxury items if you have cash.
Besides ... with it parked in the driveway... your truck isnt gaining miles...
The $71K limited guy....Im thinking if it was a brand new leftover that would be a reasonable price.... yea hes delusional alright...
Imagine the loss in value of your home right at this moment....
At least much of the initial 401K loss in value has returned...
Bargains can be had. I was looking for a small street bike. Found a 2019 Kawasaki 2019 Z400 in showroom condition with 58 miles on it and warranty until Feb 21 for $3500. New, the local dealers wanted $5500. Attached the trailer to my Super Duty and picked it up last Tuesday. Now am looking for a smallish dirt bike.
There are still plenty of people working and looking to buy new. I know a couple of guys in the business and they both said new sales are down but they are holding firm for higher pricing because inventory is very limited.
PS: Trailer is a dual axle and with the bike weighs in at about 2,000-2,200 pounds. Averaged just over 12 mph towing it home running 65-68. If I would of removed the rear ramp that sticks up 4 feet mileage would of jumped another 1 mpg.
Well, things are cheap because no one is buying. Expect things to stay this way for the next year. THRILLED I have my 2020 to drive.
Hey George C, you got a Limited earlier this year, right? Does this look like the dealer's hungry? Me thinks not.
'20 Limited CC SWB. List price $88,815 / Discount $9379 / Sell Price $79,436. By the time TTT & associated BS is added on the drive out price is $85,517.72 Same dealer. '20 Platinum CC SWB 6.7 PSD. List price $83,120 / Discount $9666 / Add bed liner $399 / Sell price $73,853. TTT & BS drive out is $79,599.74. The Platinum is discounted roughly 11% and the Limited is at roughly 10-1/2% discount. This is the initial offer and my daughter & S-I-L bought a '19 Expedition Max Limited from this guy last year so we have some history. He'll need to sharpen his pencil some more and hopefully I can find a CPO to make it sweeter.
If the assembly lines are shut down, wouldn't used vehicles become more valuable? The same with in-stock new cars. It all depends on how bad people need to sell.

I personally think those prices are good. Dealer discount on the Limited $8129, and the Platinum $8416, well under invoice.
