Radio CD problem

Has anyone had the same problem ??

It started in winter, in cold morning. I had frosted driver door lock, window and CD. After half hour with warm air inside door lock and window started operate but CD stayed with error. I don't hear any noise, any mechanism working sounds from inside.

Regards
Marcin

The stock radio/CD unit is garbage. Very, very common for the CD side of the unit to die and owner unable to retrieve CDs. Great opportunity to upgrade to a NAV unit. Nobody uses CD's anymore anyway. All the aftermarket NAV units use a Micro SD card for you to store your music on. Don't even get a new unit with a CD player in it because it takes up valuable screen real estate. Without a CD slot there you can enjoy a bigger screen.

Over here we use Crutchfields to see what audio options are available for our vehicles. I'm not sure what you have over there that's equivalent.

Thanks, I know what a stock radio is bad. After purchase Expedition I found few on ebay and it is very high on my shopping list. I am asking about this error because I thought it was a common problem and easy to fix.

I still use CDs, but I do agree that aftemarket is the answer. If you're not picky about a brand name, why not take a look on Ebay at the various Double Din Android units? You might be pleasantly surprised
That's the route I went in 2016, paid $130 shipped for one from China and sourced the harness adapter locally. It's been going strong for 4 years now, so I'm happy with it. Maybe when I get motivated, I'll finally install its GPS antenna and reverse camera.

Another good source for installation parts is Sonic Electronics
Also, be sure to get the correct wiring info from The12Volt
