My 11000 mile A/C smells really bad when i first start it and I have looked everywhere for wet spots in the cab and nothing... the smell is definitely coming from the a/c..Any ideas???
Manually control the system and take it out of recirculation mode. It's a good idea to do this whenever you park for the night. The reason to do this is that it opens the plenum to circulating outside air so that you inhibit the favorable mold and mildew environment. You can also spray Lysol into the HVAC air intake to kill the mold and mildew.

Check the cab air filter, my truck sits a lot, I have a 2017 with only 14,000 miles, around 10,000 miles the cab air filter had a huge mouse nest on top of it filled with urine. Same symptoms as yours, when I first started AC it stunk terribly bad. Not saying that’s your problem since it sounds like you drive quite a bit if you have a 2020 with 11,000 miles. But worth a shot.
This truck probably hasnt missed a day running since I bought it mid January... I have changed cabin filter and also tried the lysol trick but didnt do a follow up yet like some of the videos say might be necessary.
Just really dont wanna take it to a dealer right now with all this other crap going on and im really busy now too. so im gonna figure it out somehow

I guess the new one I bought....nevermind.
I already tried that. Sorry just getting frustrated about this issue

Yes and yes. Well stated. If the cabin filter got damp and collected mildew from not doing whats recommended above. Replacing the cabin filter might help. But I would do the above recommendation first. Dont skimp on the lysol. I spray it in the air intake vents with air on high and separately in each vent with the air off.
I am a smoker and I refresh my vehicles with a whole car can like this.... usually use Ozium.
works like a bug bomb... AC on high recirc and you pop can, close doors and it fogs the entire vehicle, then you open the doors air it out
might need 2 cans going on a crewcab or do it twice.... I also spray my cabin filter with fabreeze
Get an ozone generator and place it in the truck with your fan on recirc and on high - let it run for 1 hour - stay away from the truck and be careful when opening the doors - let it air out before getting in. It will remove any current odor, but you will have to figure out what causes it to developer the odor. Do not run the truck in a garage when doing this .... I got an Ozone generator for $50 and have used it on several cars/trucks with 100% success.
Got mine on Woot but they are not in stock there now. Here is the exact same one at Amazon ...

A few minutes before reaching my destination I turn off the A/C, keeping the fan on, and make sure it isn't on recirculate. This eliminates the startup stink for me.
I had 600 miles on my 2020 and just took a road trip of 500+ miles. Great weather no rain but used full tank of washer fluid with all those stupid love bugs in Florida. Cleaning out the truck I noticed the driver side floor soaking wet. Wonder if this has anything in common with this mold smelling issue? Going to try and use no A/C for a few days and see if it stays dry.
