I have a 1976 F-250 2wd 390cid, c6, dana60 rear, extended cab, trailer mirrors and brake, class 3 hitch, long bed *thou long time replaced with wooden flatbed*
On the Passenger side fender below the f250 badge is another badge that says "Trailer Special".
Yup, set up with towing related options. Heavy springs/axles, large engine, large radiator and trailer wiring. Try the search feature, it's been discussed in detail in the past...
All,
On a related topic. I recently purchased a 78 F150 supercab. 400M/C6, cruise control, Dual tanks, tilt wheel, PS, AC, PB. It's got helper springs and auxillary tranny cooler. Are these standard options for the supercab or did I get a tow package?

Never had a 150 SuperCab, but, it is what comes with the trailer special package.
BTW I was at an auction a few weeks back that had a 150 Supercab set up like yours and it was a trailer special.

I bought a 76 F-250 (F-259 8100 gvw) supercab long bed custom this summer with the new process 4 speed manual with granny and a 460 with edelbrock performer intake and carb. It is a "camper special". Mine has a small tool box on the passenger side of the truck box near the bottom in front of the wheel well. Also has a second battery tray and connections with solenoid that charges the battery when engine is on, but disconnects charge system when off. Battery fees factory wires that go to a jack below the box for trailer or camper connections. It has factory helper springs that don't come into play until you load it way up.

Is it different than a trailer special?
Yes, the Camper Special is different. You should have swaybars too. Also, either someone swapped out the tranny, motor, or both. 460/4spd manual was never an option in the '70's.
