can i use explorer or f150 parts on my 99 ford expedition eddie bauer edition? if so, which model year can be used on my expedition? i need the front pass window, rear pass door (mine cant open unless i open it from the inside)....rear driver side window ...basically i wanna get as many parts as i can, I jus dont kno which parts i can use....
Some parts might interchange while other might not. What I've done is go and aftermarket website and look up the same part for both models to see if the part number is the same. If it is then you can use it.

Generally speaking, on our first gen Expeditions, everything from the front doors forward is shared with the F150. Rear doors and associated parts are Expedition/Navigator only (97-02), One thing to consider is that certain things were updated for 1999 and don't cross back to 97-98. It's mostly electrical stuff like the GEM/dashboard switches/etc and some other optional items. Then the suits at Ford tried reinvented the wheel again for 2000 untill an electrical engineer smacked some sense into them . Getting back to the subject, 90% of the "physical" parts like bodywork stayed the same throughout the first generation.
As for cross-referencing part numbers, Rock Auto is generally a reliable source and often the best price for most parts unless it's really obscure. Another source I use for digging up part numbers is CatCar. It's about as close as one can come to a dealer parts catalog. Between the two, I had all the info needed to get new locks at the salvage yard and have a locksmith re-key them to suit my truck. Door locks were from a 97 F150, while the hatch lock came from an Explorer.
Also, something to consider would be that the outside handle to latch rod could have easily fallen off on your rear passenger door. It's a good thing someone didn't turn on your childproof lock, or you'd be in a world of unhappiness to get the inside door panel off with the door closed to access the latch rods. There's probably someone here that has done it (Alloro perhaps?), but such is beyond my talents. Some zip ties will prevent the rod from coming off again. I did that with my liftgate as it wouldn't lock. Surprise, the lock rod had just fallen off. A few strategically placed zip ties and it's worked properly ever since.
Might sound like a dumb question, but are there are salvage yards near you? Row52.com is an excellent resource for finding parts at you-pull-it style yards.
