I want to swap my evaporator housing for a different one that is in better shape.1974 F-250 390. Is it possible to R&R them with the motor in place ? It looks like it will clear everything but I want to make sure.

You can R&R with the engine in place, it will be tight but it’s doable. Good luck finding a box though, I ended up just restoring my box and replacing/cleaning all the components inside. Here’s a good video on removing and installing the box:

I already have a different box thanks to a parts truck that I bought. I am cleaning it up now and trying to find a copper and brass heater core. I want to change everything at once and only once. (I hope)

I had a heck of a time finding one too but finally found one, this is the only reproduced copper core i was able to find. Your only other option would be to find a NOS one but idk the oart number for that. The NPD one is identical to my original heater core though, I just carefully cut off the original moldings to put on the new one and it fit perfectly
