I have the Blue ox slider that mounts to my B&W gooseball. The main advantage of the slider (even if you don't want to or have to worry about hitting the cab) is the fact that by putting the hitch in the back position this makes backing easier. Because the pin is now farther to the back as you turn the steering wheel the RV is more responsive

This is true, but only for manual sliders. Auto sliders don't work this way and make backing up "interesting". For this reason my other top choice was a B&W puck mount slider.
It's a graphite coating that's been around forever. Nothing mystical about it. Alternatively the manufacturer recommends a squirt of WD-40 which would take all of 1 second, but that's too difficult for some folks, so they buy other hitches and then troll threads on the internet.
Just another step before every hitch up because of a poor design and striving to be different. They didnt have to make it upside down to be different, the fact you have to grease it before every hitch up makes it different then the Andersen.
Also please don't be making generalized attacks and trying to start a flame war by calling people trolls, it will only result in your own thread getting invaded by the staff and maybe locked.
Had the Andersen on my last truck and loved it. Never a single problem and if it fits your needs its a great hitch. I have the B&W Patriot on this truck because the Andersen (or any other single point hitch like the companion, pullrite) will work not with the pinbox that came on my 5th wheel. So I needed a 4 point mount system. I would take the Andersen over the pullrite because being upside down accomplishes nothing other then forces you to lube the ball before every single trip. Last thing I need is another step added to every trip to and from the campground.
Ever used a gooseneck or bumper pull? I grease the ball every time I use them so what's the big deal about greasing the ball?
