Driveshaft length?

I'm looking at the drive shaft on my 66 F100 longbed and one of the welds looks pretty ugly. That u joint is also tight. I'm suspecting someone shortened the driveshaft.

Front drive shaft is 25.75" long from u joint center to the end of the spline.

Rear drive shaft is 39.5" long from u joint center to u joint center.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone that has this drive shaft could please provide similar measurements....

I think you are going to have to get real specific about which engine, transmission and rear axle you have to get back any meaningful measurements. The rear driveshaft that I have here is 39.5" it came from a 65 LWB, 352, 3speed, 9 inch rear. But the one in my F250 parts truck LWB, 352, NP435, Dana 60 is only 37 inches.

I have the 300, 3 speed, and 9" rear. I'm mostly interested in the length of the front driveshaft.

Front drive (coupling) shaft is 25.75" long from u joint center to the end of the spline.
Front coupling shaft is 33 1/16" long based on the specs above.

2 piece shaft: Front is coupling shaft, rear is drive shaft.

MPC says 33 1/16" long for the 65/66 F100 3-speed (non-overdrive) with 300-6 and Ford 3.3M (9" rear).

In other words, what ^^ he said.

What are the measurement points for that dimension on the coupling shaft?

From the back end of the u-joint to the end of the splined shaft, how FoMoCo measures coupling/drive shafts.

The measurement I come up with then is 26.5".

I don't see how the drive shaft could be ~ 6 inches longer...

I believe you. Either I'm doing something wrong or this truck isn't what I think it is...

Post a picture of your warranty plate. We might be able to help spot something there.

Wheelbase is 129 inches. Maybe the transmission and rear end are not what I thought they were?

That's not the transmission that came in your truck. I'll let someone else take a swing at what it is but this is what your transmission should look like. What end of TN are you in.
