Power Brakes question.

Hello. I have a couple questions about the power brakes for the 73-79' trucks, specifically the 73'. How hard to you have to press the brakes in order to stop? How are they compared to your average new car or truck? On mine you have to put a considerable amount of force to stop. I have new pads, shoes, calipers, cylinders, and master cylinder. All brakes have been bled with new fluid. They only things that I haven't replaced are the lines, booster, vacuum line, and the proportion valve. I suspect its either a bad leak in the booster currently won't hold vacuum after engine is off) or there is still air in the lines. I'm just concerned that I have to bury my foot into the brake pedal to stop. Thanks in advance.

Bad brake booster will cause a hard pedal

Booster is likely the problem, how much vacuum do you have?

But compared to a new vehicle they normally are a little less responsive, but not bad. if you really have to push hard something is wrong.
