I've read most better tire shops will have some type of removal tool for such situations---maybe call a few in your area? IIRC the locks are destroyed in the process but I have no direct experience with this.
What a bitch. I'd demolish the cap in the process of getting the socket on there, you can probably buy a new one. Hit it with a bigger hammer harder!
Sure but if that's the path he'll take maybe make sure the soon-to-be-damaged parts are easily replaceable. If the center cap isn't wanted or needed that's another story.
Personally I'd visit a good tire shop and see if they can help, damage-free ya know.
