Replace Body Mounts?

Replace Body Mounts?
So, the Ex is at the shop getting a new motor. I thought about having them do the mounts while the body is off but I was there today and they don't look too bad. He said if I did want to replace them, he'd recommend the S&B mounts as the best. They run about $900 for the set and include all hardware. So, I'm already in this for over $16K with the long block, injectors, upgraded intake and exhaust manifolds, up pipes and some other stuff I'm having done while the motor is out. Reason to do now would be no additional labor and peace of mind. I don't really want to spend more money I don't have, but the body is off. What would you do?

I can't speak in regard to the quality of that brand
, but if I had the body up on my truck, I'd be hitting every little wear item I could, front to back. I'd want to give myself the best odds of not needing to lift that baby again. I know the feeling, the point you're at, but this is a prime opportunity to knock out some 15 year old mounts. You don't want to need to do it in a couple more years.Do it once, and do it right.

I can't speak in regard to the quality of that brand, but if I had the body up on my truck, I'd be hitting every little wear item I could, front to back. I'd want to give myself the best odds of not needing to lift that baby again. I know the feeling, the point you're at, but this is a prime opportunity to knock out some 15 year old mounts. I need to regear and I have 37s so the 60 is inevitable. It's just a matter of leafs or coils. If you're staying leaf sprung, going to a Dana 60 is easy peasy.

I just did mine. Most of my OEM bushings looked pretty good, from where I could see. However, when removing them, I found the real deal. Not too pretty. Mine cost less than $200 and well worth it. It will also decrease the body wallow.
