Engine swap
I have a '92 explorer with the 4.0 v6 and was wondering if any of you have done an engine swap to a v8. What was involved? Can I keep my manual tranny that's in it now? Will the computer work? Will I need to buy aftermarket motor mounts? Thanks in advance.

The conversion is not too hard. Search through thoses and you will find an assortment of info. As far as the parts you need besides the engine, it really depends on if you are going EFI or carburated.
But you will not be able to use the manual tranny you have now. The computer will be different, along with wiring harnesses, etc. New motor mounts and an oil filter relocator kit also...
