I came across this listing on Facebook Marketplace for what looks to be a 1966 Ranger for sale in Eudora, KS. Seems to be in pretty good shape in case anybody’s in the market for another truck
Looks pretty good shape. Don't know about 10K though. Couple of years ago I saw one go through a classic auction here and it was in better shape than this one. It struggled to get to 7K bid and did not sell
It's had a few changes. The A decodes to an NP435, but it seems to have a shifter lever on the tree and only one horizontal pedal. And big at that. So it's been swapped to an automatic. Those panels are definitely a custom job. Console should have a chrome strip down the top of it in that channel. Looks like the console has been dyed to match the seats which have probably been recovered.

The only way to prove it's a real Ranger is by the BODY code stamped on the 2nd line of the Warranty Plate.
Seller posted a pic of the Warranty Plate: BODY code U81 = Parchment Crinkle Vinyl & Black Rosette Pattern Vinyl - Bucket Seats, body style 81B = Custom Cab with Ranger package.
The console was optional.
There's no COLOR code, DSO code has 6 digits. Domestic Special Order non standard paint.
Truck was assembled in Kansas City MO and ordered from the Kansas City MO Ford district sales office.
Considering there are less than 60 65-66 F100-F250 Rangers that are known about, it is rare. Look what happens with K code Mustangs of that era. As time goes on rare specimens will be more desirable.
I see a 67-72 tailgate based on my understanding. Not sure if that affects the value.
that’s the correct ‘64-‘66 tailgate. Has the correct font and there’s no “ovate scallop” around FORD. I never thought I’d use the words “ovate scallop” but ND has said it enough times it’s burnt in my brain.

okay. Sorry folks. I see the font is the 64-66 block style. I didn’t think the 64-66 had that little horizontal accent near the top. I’m always working on the road and don’t see my trucks enough to check. I’ll be sure to look at the next reunion.

64-66 is more of a creased body line whereas 67-72 is a raised lip
