My most recent project idea if you would is to take a 3 gauge a pillar pod made for the bricknose series of trucks and do a little modifying to make it fit onto my 85'. Now I see this either going good and it fitting pretty decent or horribly wrong and I end up with a mangled pod that is useless to me. I'm hoping for the good option since I plan on putting a VDO tachometer in along with a Glowshift pyrometer, and a 3rd gauge that I'm not decided on (any suggestions?). I'll update this thread as I go but the timing will all depend on the shipping situation with this virus crap. Hopefully I can get this done before the 300 mile trip I'm taking the old girl on up to Chetek,WI all the way from Racine, WI. Oh and add a 18ft bass boat behind her. This should be interesting but wheres the fun in not taking risks
I couldn't find any pillar pod that would work in my old style van, so I took a generic ford truck pod and used a heat gun to mold it to the shape I needed. Maybe that'll work for you.
If you happen to drive passed Wausau, wave for me. That's my hometown.
Be careful up in the northwoods. My mom says they were forcing people to quarantine for 14 days if they were coming up from down south. Too many FIB's driving up and overwhelming the northwoods grocery stores and hospitals. She said people were bringing up 2 weeks worth of food in their trucks just in case they got forced to self-isolate.
take your time, use extreme patience, a heat gun to form it to fit and a pair of tin snips to make small strategic cuts,
and i bet you will be pleasantly surprised at the results.
Oh I'm sure they have plenty of people up there looking for food. Just as long as we don't end up like Michigan here in Wisconsin where we can't go fishing, buy paint or even garden! Anyways, are you guys suggesting to use the heat gun to soften the plastic up and reshape it to the pillar shape? That's how I'm understanding it but I just want to make sure.

yup. and the tin snips are for minor cuts to get it to fit form properly.
