I replaced cylinder 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 just a couple of weeks ago and have only driven it a few miles, yet I have oil on my spark plugs. Cylinder 5 and 4 are the last two on the right. Cylinder 4 has a lot of oil on it and it's closest to the firewall. Why is there oil on my spark plugs? What can I do to fix it?

 

Do you know what your spark plugs were torqued down to ? Looks like maybe some gas blow-by up the threads there on a few of 'em. The factory torque specs for the plugs is a little light and you'll see oil track up the threads like that. Other than that, if the valve cover gaskets are original, I'd say they're just leaking oil into the spark plug wells. If you have a lot of time on your hands right now, it's not too bad a job to replace the valve cover gaskets. You can use super glue to hold the new gaskets in place while you re-install the valve covers. Otherwise they like to fall out of their slots and possibly compromise their sealing. Torque your sparkplugs to 25Nm. Try re-torquing the spark plugs first. Then if you're still finding oil in the wells I'd go for the valve cover gaskets.

The one all the way to the right looks like compression is blowing by the spark plug threads. Was that spark plug hole ever repaired for a stripped thread issue?
