I just got rid of my 2017 Silverado LTZ for a 2017 F-250 with a 6.7, I'm looking for a few recommendations.I'm looking for recommendations for what bed covers y'all like that roll up with velcro down each side, power side steps and also some 22" wheels. The truck currently has 20" factory wheels and truck has been leveled with 35x12.50's and I have a brand new set of 305/55/R22 Terra Grapplers at home that I have thought I'd buy a set of wheels for and put on the truck. Below is a picture of the truck I just purchased. This isn't my first diesel as about 15 years ago I had a 2001 F-250 4x4 with a 7.3 and always found this site very helpful.
Never gone the soft roll-up route, but Access makes a decent one that a few of my friends have used. The BAK Revolver is also a good compromise between soft and rigid depending on what you are looking for.
I just installed a Bak Revolver X4 on my 2020 F350 Long Bed. Install went pretty well except I had to slightly adjust the driver side rear rail a little to clear the tailgate. The cover works very well though and appears to be very solid (with the hard backing of aluminum rails under the vinyl. It does not use Velcro on the sides though - there is a rubber seal on each side that lays flat. I don’t expect it to be 100% water proof, but feel it will keep things mostly dry when in place. I just ordered a Truxedo Cargo management system (basically it is 2 cross bars and a large gym-bag-like material that allows one to carry groceries, etc. without having their contents fly all over the bed of the truck. Amazon Prime had the best price on the Truxedo -
I owned a 2005 Chevy 3500 CCLB Duramax and everything in the bed would slide everywhere. I never took it to the grocery store and only once took a trip in it without the trailer (towed a 40 foot 4th wheel with it otherwise). With a good bed cover that is 5th wheel hitch friendly and some form of cargo management I will be in much better shape this time around.
As for bed covers, there are all types of reviews and opinions out there. Truxedo makes a nice bed cover that has Velcro on the sides if I recall correctly. That one might be the one you were referring to above?
I have the Truxedo Truxport cover that I really like. Rolls up and velcros at the side. I had the one on my last truck for 2.5 years and still looked good when I traded it in. Put a new one on the new truck in the first week. Always kept water out and stood up to Chicago snow storms without any issues.
When it comes to the roll-up velcro covers, I really like the Truxedo Sentry CT. They're super low profile and use aluminum slats for strength. But also take a look at the ProX15. It comes in at a lower price point and doesn't have the aluminum. We carry the full Truxedo line and we'll be glad to help out.
As for steps, we're a stocking dealer for AMP steps and we'd be glad to help you out there as well. At your height, I'd opt for the PowerStep or the PowerStep Xtreme if you like the dual motor option.
As for wheels, we carry tons of difference styles including the 4Play brand that has plenty of nice 22" designs. We also carry Fuel, XD, and plenty of others.
Happy to go over options and pricing with you. Feel free to send me a PM if we can help.
