My beautiful 77, project.
rebuilt the autolite2150 and after seeing the condition of the kargen rebuild my brother had bought years earlier found a new one that was cheaper than a rebuilt. Haven't installed it yet, I got sidetracked looking for a battery drain. Which leads me to this. Pulled the dash and amazed at the deterioration of the plastic and the circuit board. Ordered the 2 plastics, board and a new lens. Found corrosion and the wire ends are not looking good. I thought for sure they would be available. I've replaced other ends after removing them from the plug, no big deal. I guess that was the good old days. Anyone have any ideas, I've called vintage Ford shops, the dealers with no luck. I thought of maybe tinning with solder but there's to much corrosion. Several should be stripped back to good wire. Anyone else that has come across this and can advise would very much be appreciated.
Pictures would help (we LOVE truck ****
) But from your description it sounds like you're looking for the terminals that go on the end of the wire that plug into the instrument cluster circuit board. If that's correct, you're probably looking for Ford P/N D3AZ-14474-G. These are non-insulated open barrel connectors and take a special pair of crimping pliers. The standard crimping pliers won't work.According to Clips and Fasteners website, these interchange with the Ford P/N:
