I need to know the torque specs for the cab mount body bushing bolts. Do any of you know? I just did a 2" body lift on my '92 F-350, and am almost fini' but need/want to torque the bolts properly. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
I looked in Chiltons and Alldata for a spec and could not find one. I just tighten the living daylights out of the cab mounts. Since the new bed bolts put the tension on the beds surface instead of farther down into the beds structure as with the stock carraige type bolts, I torqued until the sheetmetal started to bend. I figured that was tight enough. The body has not left the position that I secured it to that day. Just what I did- but it may not be the best way but it worked for me.
I know there probably isn't any torque figures , the rule of thumb is you tighten them down until they compress about 25% of there original height . You want to keep some tension on them to make sure they dont come loose when you load the box with weight .
Yeah, I torqued the cab mounts to whatever BDS has on there website, and just tightened the box bolts down REAL good. Body hasn't shifted yet and its been 2000Km's (1600km roadtrip)since.
