No more manual 4wd?

Someon above so nicely said:
The desire for manual shift transfer case has nothing to do with tradition, testosterone, history, or habit. It simply works better for me. More practical, less problematic.
My reasons for wanting the manual transfer case shifter have everything to do with tradition, testosterone, history, and habit. It simply works better for me. More practical, less problematic. AND IT IS WHAT I LIKE AND PREFER.

But I really wanted the MSOS due to less complexity, and probable longevity, so it was what I preferred. Simple and effective go a long way, IMO.

I used to HATE automatic transmissions. Lets face it, they blew till about 15-20 years ago. Always in the wrong gear for me, not terribly durable, upshift in the middle of a corner, got hot, shifted rough, inefficient, shift delays, expensive maintenance etc. etc. And while my daily driver is a manual transmission that I enjoy, I have to admit that modern autos just work great. In much the same way, it is more costly for Ford to maintain the Manual 4x4 and Auto 4x4 options, if 98% opt for the ESOF. Simplification of offerings is going to happen, I don't like it either, but low take rates justify it from a business perspective.
