The hot water discharges out the top of the motor at the thermostat housing. The hot water enters the top of the radiator and is cooled as it flows downward. The water pump is the water intake for the engine( regardless of rotational direction) and the pump pushes the coolant through the system. Remember that the impeller is reversed on a reverse direction pump. Thus the coolant always flows in the same direction.

One of my pet peeves. It amazing how much some guys get all the info( charts-pages out of manuals-long stories) then others do the same and the thread gets to 40-50 responses and sometimes big arguments between posters about how to help the OP.... And then the OP never responds- No thank you, no kiss my @ss, nothing...I don't usually respond to newbee question askers until I see they have posted again. The same thing happens on Classic Oldsmobile. It seems very rude... Oh well during this time of social distancing it makes for something to do....
