The Eagle One A2Z (about $5 a bottle at Wal-Mart) works great on both the wheels and tires. I haven't used anything else in a number of years and I had previously tried every product known to man. The A2Z melts just about everything right off. Spray in on dry wheels/tires and let it sit for a minute. I like to quickly scrub the tires with a soft brush and wipe down the wheels with a damp microfiber cloth to lift off the brake dust. Hit them with the hose and the water will run black. Finish the tires with 303 and you're done. Looks good as new.
oops, polmolive is all I have ever used, granted my truck gets washed about 1 time a year, well my old truck. I have washed my '19 3 times since I got it last June.
after reading the links i will be buying the right stuff.
Speaking of the detailing products, has anyone found anything that will clean up the double exhaust tips on the 6.7 diesels? Not sure if it's anodized or aluminum. Thanks
I would second simple green, it cuts right through brake dust, grime, etc, and is quite mild. I have been carrying it in the back of the truck for years, my latest usage is to wash my hands after I come out of the grocery store.
I didn’t know Simple Green was also a disinfectant.
Nevr-dull on the exhaust tip. It is stainless steel. Do yourself a favour and by some nitrile gloves and wear them, its like a fibreglass batting and the chemicals are corrosive. I also use on the bumpers, tow hooks, and works well on the chrome mirror caps, chrome running boards and grill. It requires elbow grease in a large can, results may vary depending on effort. Wheels I use any spray on leave to soak tire and rim cleaner. Works well. May need multiple applications depending on how dirty/grubby.
Simple Green isn't a disinfectant, just soap, but since they say washing your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water is as effective as disinfecting hand sanitizer (hard to get) I just spray the simple green on my hands and wash them For 20 seconds, it is a strong soap that doesn’t seem to bother my hands. Having it in the spray bottle in the back of the truck means I can wash them every time I come out of a store or whatever, and if it spills it doesn’t destroy what it touches. Just trying to find solutions that I can make work.
One of the few do all safe soaps, Never without it, from wheels to screens to prewashing windows, to vinyl siding, decks, and i havevnever killed any flowers with it. 😎He did it<
I recommend P&S Brake Buster. Best stuff I have ever used. Works great on wheels and white letters too. Seems very mild and I even diluted it with 50% water and seems to work just as well. Can buy on Amazon.
Mothers with the yellow label hands down best I have ever used. Use it on our Mercedes with polished aluminum wheels for two years now and still sparkle clean. I never let it dry spray on wash it with a soapy sponge comes out spotless.

I have a P&S store nearby and have tried the Brake Buster. It works well, seems safe on most surfaces and doesn't smell too bad. My only complaint is how fast I go through the spray bottle size.
For me , cleaning wheels is easy on wife's Explorer, my Expedition, and the 18 inch PVD chrome wheels on the F 250. Since new, I have used a combo of paint sealants on the wheels after I clean them. Separately or mixed, a paint sealant product protects, has durability, and puts a nice shine on the wheels. However, the best part is the wheels are much easier to clean as most dirt and debris does not stick and removes easily. I have never used any special cleaners on these wheels . The finish does not wear off for at least 2-3 months. If you don't like mixing products, the one Paint Sealant I would recommend tor all the right reasons- durability, ease of use, cost, looks - would be Meguiars M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 Not a fan of regular wax, since the same effort with a paint sealant product yields a much longer lasting coating. I dont think anyone likes to spend a long time on their wheels, and this system works for me. Good luck to everyone.....
