I am having a problem with my Bronco. It is a 1994 Eddie Bauer 5.8 351 w/ just over 100k. I replaced the plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor today, and took it out and it is driving strange. I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I will be driving, and when I am accelerating, the RPMs will be climbing, then drop to 1000-1100 RPMs sometimes, and everything will shake. The only way to make it stop is to let off the accelerator or mash it. It shakes really bad, and I checked the tie rods on an off chance, and that wasn't it. I am pretty sure that just about every time it happens, the RPMs drop, but I'm not positive. Has anyone had this problem in their truck/Bronco? \
Sounds like its due to the stuff you did today, are all the wires tight?, did you run the wires correctly? Just go over everything and make sure its tight.
P.s. I wouldn’t put your e-mail in your post because their are bots that search for addresses, and before you know it your getting more junk mail then you know what to do with.
I had a similar problem once, but on a different engine. It turned out to be two different things: First, check that your ignition wires are in their looms - you can get inductive crossfire in the #6 and #5 cylinders if the wires are too close, particularly if you have a high powered ignition. Second, check to make sure that you haven't burned any of the wires on the exhaust - the resulting ground makes itself pretty apparent in the engine's performance. Good luck!
