To separate them into "groups" for different/alternating patterns, I'm pretty sure you needed to purchase strobes with 4 wires. As it stands right now you could program a different pattern to each and they would all flash randomly. Another choice might be to wire the lights in sets of 2 (diagonally) and run 2 separate power switches. This would let the exact time the sets were getting power vary a little giving the illusion of alternating pairs. But, don't be surprised if they occasionally all flash together then seperate again.
